Developed enhancements to an existing navigation system to run on new hardware platform (Motorola Coldfire).

Context

This project was moving to a new hardware platform based on the Motorola Coldfire processor. The company needed engineers to support and add to their existing staff. The software had to be based on previously developed modules used in other company products. The client also needed hardware support to develop this new platform.

Solution

BCA developed and tested the software. The software provides navigation data to various output devices based on inputs from several GPS devices, a compass, and an odometer. The software supports the WGS-84 map datum.

Under a very short development schedule, BCA assisted in the design and development of software using the tools and environment selected by the client, including serial drivers and high-level control logic.
